Occurrence of Crithidia Factors and Folic Acid in Various Bacteria

摘要: Crithidia factors and folic acid were found to be widely distributed in culture fluids cells of 27 species bacteria, when cultured under aerobic conditions into the stationary phase. Most bacteria excreted more than they retained their cells. One factor produced by Serratia indica one Bacillus cereus differed from biopterin chromatographic behavior. The S. appeared a 2-amino-4-hydroxy-6-substituted pteridine on basis KMnO4 oxidation ultraviolet absorption spectra. folate compounds this organism was shown identical 5,10-methylidynetetrahydrofolic bioautography.
