摘要: The methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) encodes a major enzyme in folate metabolism. It has been suggested that two MTHFR polymorphisms, 677C>T and 1298A>C, influence risk of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Most studies on relation polymorphisms to ALL susceptibility have pediatric populations because is relatively rare adults. Here, we report case-control study 127 Chinese patients with adult precursor B (B-ALL) examine correlation between the B-ALL Our data show although prevalence genotype 1298CC was significantly higher female than controls (P = 0.04), differences distributions combined genotypes either 677CC or 677CT cases were statistically insignificant. Haplotype analysis revealed no significant difference controls. for joint 677CC/1298AC lower [odds ratio (OR) 0.06, 95% CI 0.00-0.53, P 0.0033] among men [OR 0.71, 0.20-2.53, 0.55], suggesting protective effects are gender bias toward women being at 17-fold reduced odds develop B-ALL.
