摘要: Nine species of helminths, all nematodes, were recovered from the viscera 48 feral swine (Sus scrofa) Cumberland Island, Georgia. Both overdispersed frequency distributions and abundances four common helminths (Stephanurus dentatus, Metastrongylus apri, M. pudendotectus Gongylonema pulchrum) did not vary significantly across main interactive effects host sex and/or seasons. Whether or present low population densities on Island has influenced pattern fluctuations in helminth seasons as often observed communities other hosts was resolved. The apparent recent decline prevalences abundances, loss certain island may be explained partially by decreasing transmission potentials direct life cycle caused a marked reduction numbers individuals population.
