Elimination of dibenzothiophene from transportation fuel by combined photocatalytic and adsorptive method

摘要: Abstract Photocatalytic degradation of dibenzothiophene was studied by use ZnO/FSM-16 photocatalyst under UV and visible light irradiations. The prepared incorporation ZnO into the FSM-16 nano-sized particles through reaction with zinc acetate solution followed calcination process. diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) photoluminescence (PL) analysis indicated that immobilization on surface catalyst support lowered its bang gap energy to region enhanced efficiency lowering electron/hole recombination. nanocomposite characterized XRD, FTIR, BET techniques. It concluded area synthesized sufficiently high promote adsorption pollutant subsequently effect different experimental parameters presence H2O2 some organic scavenger studied. results showed optimized conditions 80% degraded. retained activity after six regeneration cycles. products including sulfur containing compounds were efficiently removed MCM-41 adsorbent.
