摘要: The European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP) developed a practical clinical definition and consensus diagnostic criteria for age-related sarcopenia. EWGSOP included representatives from four participant organisations, i.e. the Geriatric Medicine Society, Society Clinical Nutrition Metabolism, International Association of Gerontology Geriatrics-European Region Aging. These organisations endorsed findings final document. group met addressed following questions, using medical literature to build evidence-based answers: (i) What is sarcopenia? (ii) parameters define (iii) variables reflect these parameters, what measurement tools cut-off points can be used? (iv) How does sarcopenia relate cachexia, frailty sarcopenic obesity? For diagnosis sarcopenia, recommends presence both low muscle mass + function (strength or performance). variously applies characteristics further conceptual stages as 'presarcopenia', 'sarcopenia' 'severe sarcopenia'. reviewed wide range that used measure specific mass, strength physical performance. Our paper summarises currently available data defining by age gender; suggests an algorithm case finding older individuals based measurements gait speed, grip mass; presents list suggested primary secondary outcome domains research. Once operational adopted mainstream comprehensive geriatric assessment, next steps are natural course develop effective treatment.
