摘要: Attention is often regarded as a mechanism by which attended objects become perceptually more salient, akin to increasing their contrast. We demonstrate means of human psychophysics that attention better described reduces contextual integration, thereby ensuring task irrelevant information prevented from influencing the processing relevant information. To investigate possible neuronal bases this phenomenon we studied effects on spatial integration in V1 macaque monkey. In line with our psychophysical results, directed parafoveal locations reduced reducing summation area neurons. Additionally measured length tuning presence and absence externally applied acetylcholine marmoset The application were largely similar. Acetylcholine neuron's area. These data can alter perceptual might contribute dependent receptive field dynamics.
