摘要: This paper introduces a novel three-level voltage-source converter (VSC) as an alternative to known topologies, including the conventional neutral-point-clamped (NPCC), many T-type VSCs, and active NPCC. It is shown that, operating in low dc-link voltage range, this new solution not only can achieve higher efficiency than typical structures but also overcome their drawback of asymmetrical semiconductor loss distribution for some conditions. Therefore, remarkable increase output power capability and/or system reliability be accomplished. The switching states commutations converter, named here hybrid NPCC (H-NPCC), are analyzed, loss-balancing scheme introduced. Five- seven-level H-NPCC topologies with features presented. Finally, semiconductor-area-based comparison used further evaluate VSC systems. Interestingly, total chip area proposed already lowest frequencies.
