The current review therefore attempts a synthesis our knowledge on neurotrophic immunological aspects ECT other electrically based treatments psychiatry. Perhaps contrary contemporary views, we conclude targeted potentiation, rather than suppression, responses be therapeutic relevance chronically depressed patients or subgroup thereof.
