摘要: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease posing significant burden on health-care resources and patients' quality of life. It complex with wide spectrum clinical presentations combinations symptoms. AD affects up to 20% children 3% adults; recent data show that its prevalence still increasing, especially in low-income countries. First manifestations usually appear early life often precede other allergic diseases such as asthma or rhinitis. Individuals affected by have genetically determined risk factors affecting the barrier function immune system. However, genetic mutations alone might not be enough cause AD, it merely interaction dysfunctional epidermal predisposed individuals harmful effects environmental agents which leads development disease. has been described an disease, but today, contribution reactions initiation challenged, proposed allergy rather consequence subjects concomitant underlying atopic constitution. Treatment at best achieves symptom control than cure; there thus strong need identify alternatives for prevention.
