摘要: Experimentally naive adult (9–11 years old) and aged (approximately 22– 26 female rhesus monkeys were evaluated on 3 neuropsychological tests of memory function. Aged impaired in a delayed response test visuospatial when the retention interval task was increased from 0 to 10 sec. These animals performed as well younger subjects, however, at very short delays (0 1 sec), demands minimal. The same subjects then trained nonmatching sample (DNMS) visual object recognition memory. Although they required significantly more training than learn principle task, only minimally tested intervals ranging sec 22 hr. In contrast their relatively intact performance dramatically second version DNMS that remember temporal order which objects presented. findings support view certain functions are differentially susceptible age-dependent deterioration. Since studies young demonstrate different brain regions make specific contributions learning memory, task-dependent deficits observed monkey important for determining neural structures mediate cognitive dysfunction. According this perspective, tasks known be sensitive prefrontal cortical damage, but procedure with medial lobe damage fail. results suggest dysfunction may prominent aspects impairment monkey.
