摘要: Abstract Calcium channel β subunits expressed in rat atria and atrial myocytes are identified their expression quantified compared to subunit the ventricle. mRNAs encoding all four know including following splice variants: β1a, β2b, β2c, β2e β4d. The specific β2 variants (β2b, β2e) differ from those previously reported isoform is most abundant mRNA heart amount of both protein significantly greater ventricles than atria. individual varies with age within different chambers heart. β2b variant appears ventricle young (4.5 week) old (16 week) animals, β2c more highly as animals robustly only 4.5 week β4 higher tissue its decreases older animals. In contrast, abundance β3 does not change a function postnatal age. Antisense oligonucleotides targeting sequence common isoforms well that for reduced HVA calcium current density isolated cells confirming contribute regulation complexity may provide mechanism functional fine-tuning cardiac current.
