Soy protein recovery in a solvent-free process using continuous liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed ion exchanger

摘要: Soy protein concentrates and soy isolates act as ingredients in bakery, meat dairy products, baby formulas, starting materials for spun textured vegetable other nutritional supplements. In this study, the effectiveness of a liquid–solid circulating fluidized bed (LSCFB) ion exchanger is demonstrated recovery soluble proteins from full fat defatted flour. Under steady-state operating conditions, about 50% could be recovered feed streams entering exchanger. The LSCFB was shown to promising system both flour solutions. As exchange process captures dissolved proteins, may offer less damaging form processing compared with acid precipitation where aggregates functionality affected. addition, allows simultaneous adsorption desorption allowing continuous operation. No prefiltration containing suspended particles required well, because fluidization used place packed technology improve on current processes. © 2011 American Institute Chemical Engineers Biotechnol.
