摘要: Drug therapy is a powerful tool for improving neonatal outcome. Despite this, neonatologists still routinely prescribe off-label compounds developed adults and extrapolate doses from those used children or adults. Knowledge integration through pharmacokinetic modeling method that could improve the current situation. Such predictive models may convert pharmacotherapy explorative to confirmatory. This can be illustrated by research projects related prediction of renal clearance glucuronidation. type model will also knowledge (patho)physiology. In meanwhile, fields clinical pharmacology (e.g. pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic pharmacogenetics) neonatology whole-body cooling lower limit viability) have both matured, resulting in new topics. However, order newly emerging topics become effective tools, they need tailored specific characteristics neonates. Consequently, field needs dedicated who continue raise awareness practices, eminence-based dosing regimens absence drug formulations all reflect suboptimal care.
