摘要: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the principal cause of mortality in chronic kidney (CKD) patients. Dyslipoproteinaemia a common metabolic derangement CKD and traditional risk factor for CVD. This study investigates serum lipoprotein, especially small-dense low-density lipoprotein (sd-LDL), abnormalities A total 131 patients (age: 59 +/- 12 years, male = 64) diagnosed according to Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes, 2004 (KDIGO) 121 age- gender-matched control subjects 58 6 62) were recruited from Hong Kong Macau. Serum cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) direct LDL-C assayed enzymatically. In addition, sd-LDL, together with very low density intermediate-density lipoproteins (VLDL IDL) measured by US Food Drug Administration (FDA)-approved polyacrylamide gradient gel electrophoresis. Compared controls, showed significantly decreased TC, LDL-C, normal-size LDL HDL-C increased TG, VLDL, IDL sd-LDL (all P < 0.01). The fractions resulted elevated sd-LDL:LDL ratio (P 0.005). contrast TC CKD. Thus, will be used increasingly CVD assessment other diseases that show derangement.
