摘要: We determined the presence or absence of and clinical significance cytokeratin-positive cells in lymph nodes patients who had mastectomies for ductal carcinoma-in-situ. Two pathologists independently assessed axillary found. All either a core open biopsy performed before time mastectomy. The were with hematoxylin eosin stain immunohistochemistry cytokeratin marker AE1/AE3. slides epithelial cells. As control, found prophylactic assessed. None these previous performed. Lymph from all demonstrated no obvious on stain. Peripheral sinuses six (23%) carcinoma-in-situ contained few immunohistochemistry. control group mean follow-up was 5 years, alive without recurrence at study. Epithelial may be present draining site recent breast invasive carcinoma, indicating that are an artifact surgery not micrometastatic disease.
