Activation of FOS in hypocretin neurons of the rat by insulin-induced hypoglycemia.

摘要: OBJECTIVE The aim of the present study was to investigate extent activation hypocretin (HCRT) synthesizing neurons after a single intraperitoneal administration insulin using Fos-HCRT dual immunohistochemistry. In addition, there also an attempt depict spatial organization activated HCRT perikarya within whole portion medial and lateral hypothalamic (LHA) areas. METHODS animals (rats) were fixed 90 min i.p. RESULTS data demonstrate that in early phase acute hypoglycemia, number dually labeled Fos-HCRTir entire LHA only moderately increased from 9.54 15.64% spite fact same period plasma glucose levels declined by more than 70%. Moreover, LHA, distribution did not show any special organization. CONCLUSION indicate large fall hypoglycemia does represent appropriate stimulus for massive rats.
