摘要: Located in the center of Mediterranean landscape and with an extensive coastal line, territory what is today Italy has played important role history human settlements movements Southern Europe Basin. Populated since Paleolithic times, complexity during Neolithic, Metal Ages most recent two last millennia (involving overlapping different cultural demic strata) shaped pattern modern Italian genetic structure. With aim disentangling this understanding which processes more importantly distribution diversity, we have analyzed uniparentally-inherited markers ∼900 individuals from sampling across peninsula, Sardinia Sicily. Spatial PCAs DAPCs revealed a sex-biased indicating demographic histories for males females. Besides outlier position Sardinians, North West–South East Y-chromosome structure found continental Italy. Such agreement archeological syntheses independent parallel Neolithisation. In addition, date estimates pinpoint importance events late Neolithic Ages. On other hand, mitochondrial diversity distributed homogeneously older population that might be related to presence Refugium glacial period Europe.
