摘要: The etiology of soft tissue sarcoma is poorly understood. Exposure to environmental chemicals may play a role, but the data are not clear. We compared group patients with healthy controls determine whether mutagen sensitivity assay, simple chromosome aberration assay using radiomimetic bleomycin, might be useful identify at risk for sarcoma. Patients diagnosis Memorial Sloan-Kettering's outpatient clinic signed informed consent and donated 30 ml blood. Controls were selected from general population Connecticut by random digit dialing. Unrepaired DNA damage was assessed 100 metaphase spreads each individual, number breaks in chromatids being counted as per cell (b/c). 20 cases had 1.03 mean b/c 0.88 (P = 0.16). 5.7 times more likely sensitive than 0.01), determined after dividing subjects into or groups based on median among controls. As has been shown associated cancers appears reflect genetic susceptibility, this an appropriate biomarker radiation it marker susceptibility Larger studies should undertaken assess these possibilities.
