摘要: Abstract The metabolism of the epidermal structural and nonstructural proteins was studied in hydrocortisone-induced vitro keratinization 13-day chick embryonic skin growing a chemically defined medium. protein epidermis examined by determining amounts radioactivity incorporated into fractions reduced, S -carboxymethylated (SCMEp) which were separated polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. A group high molecular weight, glycine-rich derivatives fibrous called SCMEp found to be actively synthesized hydrocortisone-treated alone, while undefined X shown exclusively nontreated epidermis. Chase-culture prelabeled explants revealed that hydrocortisone accelerated degradation general including remained metabolically stable throughout culture. Actinomycin D did not significantly affect synthesis but greatly inhibited epidermis, suggesting induction steroid relatively mRNA for . From these findings, it is concluded directed cultured toward through acceleration other proteins.
