摘要: Invasive species poses a threat to the world’s oceans. Alien sponges account for majority of introduced marine in isolated Hawaiian reef ecosystems. In this study, cultivation-dependent and cultivation-independent techniques were applied investigate microbial consortia associated with alien sponge Suberites zeteki. Its communities diverse representatives Actinobacteria, Firmicutes, α- γ-Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Chlamydiae, Planctomycetes, Cyanobacteria. Specifically, genus Chlamydia was identified first time from sponges, two genera (Streptomyces Rhodococcus) added short list culturable actinobacteria sponges. Culturable dominated by Bacillus (63%) contained actinobacterial closely affiliated those habitats other than Cyanobacterial clones clustered free-living cyanobacteria water column environmental samples; they show no affiliation sponge-derived cyanobacteria. The low sequence similarity α-Proteobacteria previously described sequences suggested that S. zeteki may contain new lineages these bacterial groups. diversity different studied This is report on invertebrate species. For time, it provides an insight into structure within
