Factors associated with poor asthma control among asthmatic patient visiting emergency department

摘要: Introduction Bronchial asthma is a common chronic disease that affects people of all ages. Insufficient control may cause frequent emergency department (ED) visit by patients who seek crisis management their asthma. Objectives This study aims to identify the factors associated with poor control. Methods We enrolled 450 participants visited for management. Besides assessing severity classification, we assess each participant over months preceding ED using Asthma Control Test score. We employed an independent t-test and ANOVA if differences in scores demographic clinical characteristics are statistically significant. The dependence on had been investigated stepwise regression model. Results There number visits classification (P values = 0.001). It was found age, multiple visits, severe persistent, moderate mild received education about medication were greatly affected scores. For instance, predicted decrease 10.688 when persistent asthma. Similarly, 5.647 asthma. Conclusions This identified many explain insufficient control.
