Activation of NAD-linked malic enzyme in intact plant mitochondria by exogenous coenzyme A

摘要: O2 uptake by potato and cauliflower bud mitochondria oxidizing malate was progressively inhibited as the pH of external medium increased, in response to accumulation oxaloacetate. Adding 0.5 mm coenzyme A reversed this trend stimulating intramitochondrial NAD-linked malic enzyme at alkaline pH. In intact mitochondria, stimulation not observed when above 7.5; stimulated even 8. This difference attributed an inherent properties from two tissues. Malic solubilized inactive values 7.8, while that retained its activity 8 presence A. only NAD+ also provided exogenously. The results show can be taken up pH, NAD+, levels matrix act together regulate oxidation.
