Prompt Gamma Ray Spectrometry for In Vivo Measurement of Boron-10 Concentration in Rabbit Brain Tissue

摘要: Boron-10 concentrations in the brain of live rabbits were measured by prompt gamma ray spectrometry at intervals over a 24-hour period. blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) also measured. Animals killed each interval to obtain tissues measure boron-10 concentration brainstem, cerebral cortex, cerebellar basal ganglia, as well whole brain. did not differ significantly from those tissue. much higher than after injection. These showed similar pattern initial rapid decrease, followed more gradual decrease. There was little present CSF. The brainstem contained larger other tissues. Prompt has potential for direct measurement patients undergoing boron neutron capture therapy.
