摘要: Publisher Summary The accelerated interest in microbial cellulases stems from their potential industrial application. This area is an excellent example which basic and applied science are closely interlinked: the better understood mechanism of cellulase action; can be applicative value as a biotechnological process. chapter presents new concept concerning mode cellulose degradation. In this mode, model organism, cellulosome anchored to cell surface polycellulosomal centers, also mediate adherence bacterium insoluble substrate. Moreover, considered encompass general organization various complementary related components into defined complexes, may form larger polycellulosoma structures. Finally, bear particular relevance other systems wherein structurally complex polymers (for example, starch, chitin, proteinaceous matrices) degraded enzymatically.
