Mandibular growth after paediatric mandibular reconstruction with the vascularized free fibula flap: a systematic review.

摘要: The reconstruction of mandibular defects with vascularized fibula flaps remains challenging in the paediatric population. ability reconstructed mandible to grow controversial, and associated factors are unclear. A systematic search English-language Chinese literature was conducted for period January 1989 April 2014 using selected key words topic. Individual patients aged <18 years who underwent flap had known outcomes related growth potential were included. Data on postoperative factors, including condylar management, age at reconstruction, malignancy, radiotherapy or chemotherapy, reviewed systematically. In total, 51 reported 15 articles proportion a preserved (58.8%) higher than that no potential. Condylar preservation during rapid showed trend towards an influence Reconstruction after benign lesion resection seemed facilitate growth, while inhibited growth. resection, between 8 12 age, inhibits same.
