摘要: Abstract BACKGROUND & AIMS: Helicobacter pylori may affect the normal balance between gastric epithelial cell proliferation and death, thus interfering with maintenance of mucosal integrity. The aim this study was to investigate effect H. on growth, DNA synthesis, induction apoptosis, viability human cells in vitro. METHODS: incubated a differentiated cancer line for up 72 hours, effects numbers (cell counts WST-1 assay), synthesis (5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine assay [3H]thymidine incorporation), fragmentation (DNA fluorochrome staining, transmission electron microscopy, histone enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) were assessed. RESULTS: Incubation led time- concentration- dependent reduction growth concomitant fragmentation. At high bacteria-cell ratios (> 100), inhibition associated synthesis. Treatment tumor necrosis factor alpha, receptor-activating CD95/APO-1/Fas antibody, interferon gamma markedly potentiated pylori-induced CONCLUSIONS: affects by direct apoptosis indirectly sensitization induced proinflammatory stimuli.
