摘要: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness electrical tinnitus sup pression in two groups chronic severe sufferers. Through standard question naires, we compared extratympanic and intratympanic auditory stimulation (AES) by cochlear implants (CI) for suppression or abolition ofthe perception decrease its associated complaints. We made otolaryngological com prehensive audiological assessment also measurement each group patients before after AES 50 days later. investigated dimensions psychological plaints due disabling means questionnaire (TQ). control examination during at least seven sessions (50 days) without showed improvement 20 32 (62.5 %); 12 (37.5 %) did not notice any change. In comparative with implants, oc curred 16 (75 switch-on speech processor, these reported significant attenuation complete their tinnitus. Complete suppres sion CI observed 11 (55 %), 5 (25 demon strated . Nonsuppression only 4 %). None our affected an increment owing CI. differences scores TQ were both patients. A comparison score between no significance. concluded that is a useful effective therapeutic interven tion Extratympanic reduces effects but pre sents limitations , mainly short duration residual inhibition shown be more efficient treatment tinnitus, because elec trical affects wider area cochlea presented longer sessions. Therefore, incapacitating should considered continuous use stimulation.
