摘要: Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance Several medicinal plants and spices are used traditionally to treat cancers in Cameroon. Aim Methanol extracts from thirty-four plants, with related ethnobotanical use were investigated for their vitro cytotoxicity on the human pancreatic cancer cell line MiaPaCa-2, leukemia CCRF-CEM cells multidrug resistant (MDR) subline CEM/ADR5000, normal umbilical vein endothelial (HUVECs). In addition anti-angiogenic properties of most active investigated. Material methods The MTS [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium] assay was cytotoxic studies CAM-assay (chicken-chorioallantoic-membrane-assay) anti-angiogenesis test. Results results tests indicated that, when tested at 20 μg/ml, Xylopia aethiopica, Echinops giganteus, Imperata cylindrica, Dorstenia psilirus Piper capense able inhibit more that 50% proliferation three (MiaPaCa-2, CEM/ADR5000 CCRF-CEM). lowest IC50 values 6.86 μg/ml MiaPaCa-2 3.91 μg/ml obtained X. while corresponding value 6.56 μg/ml P. cells. Against cells, no cross-resistance observed I. Zinziber officinalis. Extracts D. E. giganteus angiogenesis by than quail embryo. Conclusion overall present study provide supportive data some Cameroonian treatment.
