摘要: In 1951, Dr. Lars Leksell from Sweden conceived of what is now known as gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS). Since first treated a patient who had vestibular schwannoma in 1967, there has been year-to-year increase the number patients with for schwannoma. This article outlines technique GKRS and discusses current results its use to treat schwannomas. Other topics discussed include tumor control, treatment recurrent/residual cystic schwannomas, neurofibromatosis type 2.
