摘要: Abstract Transforming growth factor-beta, a peptide factor, is known to be multifunctional regulator of cellular activity. The effect this factor on extracellular matrix formation well established, but its effects elastin, critical component lung, skin, and blood vessels are unknown. In the present study, by use an Enzyme-Linked Immunoassay method, we found that transforming factor-beta strongly increased elastin production in cultured porcine aortic smooth muscle cells. dosage-dependent 1.0–10.0 ng/ml promoted 2–3 fold. time-dependent at least 8 h pre-treatment with 10.0 was required for sustained increases production. cells suggest cytokine may important mediator during atherosclerosis hypertension.
