摘要: Abstract The influence of alloying with aluminium, manganese, silicon, tin and iron on the wear properties special brass has been investigated, mainly in region severe wear. surface layer developed during dry sliding against steel was characterized respect to structure, composition hardness. Irrespective original structure composition, a superficial extremely fine-grained α phase is formed. Oxidation β-phase-promoting elements causes transition phase. grain size this approximately 0.1 μm; much harder than bulk material very properties. Beneath there second consisting β fine (2–5 μm) an increased hardness relative material. Additions solution- precipitation-hardening like tin, silicon or have positive effect resistance wear, both mild regime. A comparison made service-tested synchronizing ring mechanisms resulting layer.
