摘要: When scrotal skin temperature was raised to above 35.3°C, the large glands of scrotum discharged sweat synchronously at intervals 2–14 min in eight rams and 9–40 one ram. Evaporation when wool on short caused sharp falls up 2.6°C; 18–30 mm long, first rose then fell either pre-discharge or just below. Local anaesthesia superior perineal nerves abolished gland response heat. Although single intravenous injections adrenaline (1–4 µg /kg) noradrenaline (1–6 were followed by discharges, bilateral adrenalectomy with replacement adrenal cortical hormones did not prevent discharges The appearance discharge adrenalectomized ram delayed, delay reduced constant infusions 0.8–1.0 /kg/min. Partial lumbar sympathectomy changed pattern amount fluid ejected each discharge. It is concluded that adrenergic sympathetic control expulsion heat, but from medulla may also play a part. sweating cutaneous receptors its relationship possible exerted brain are discussed light these findings.
