摘要: The gastrointestinal tracts (GIT) of herbivores harbor dense and diverse microbiota that has beneficial interactions with the host, particularly for agriculturally relevant animals like ruminants such as cattle. When assessing ruminant health, microbiological indicators are often derived from rumen or feces. However, it is probable ruminal fecal do not reflect microbial communities within GIT ruminants. To test this, we investigated compartments a Brazilian Nelore steer performed 16S rRNA pyrosequencing analysis on collected samples. Our results showed high intra-individual variation, samples clustering according to their location in including forestomach, small intestine, large intestine. Although sequences related phyla Firmicutes Bacteroidetes predominated all samples, there was remarkable variation at family level. Comparisons between rumen, feces, other components distinct differences community. This work first intensive non-culture based any provides framework understanding how host impact health bovines.
