摘要: Background: An association between children’s early language development and their emotional behavioural functioning is reported in the literature. The nature of remains unclear it has not been established if such an found a population-based cohort addition to clinical populations. Methods: This study examines cohort. Data from 1,314 children Children Focus (CiF) sample Avon Longitudinal Study Parents (ALSPAC) were analysed. Regression models identified extent which ability at 2 years age later 4 associated with 6 while accounting for biological social risk adjusting performance intelligence (PIQ). Results: A series univariable multivariable analyses identified strong influence risk, and behavioural functioning. Interestingly, dropped out multivariate analyses when PIQ were controlled for. Early expressive vocabulary receptive made contribution to risk. final model accounted for 11.6% variance years. Conclusions: that early years, specifically both made a moderate, but important contribution age. Although children’s understanding functioning, the shows that one many developmental factors involved. Keywords: Children, development, ALSPAC,
