摘要: This paper is an attempt to examine issues and problemsraised by agricultural biotechnology drawing on the richnessof contemporary ideas in ethical theory thereby contribute tothe project of establishing new approaches these problems. Thefundamental argument that many negative aspects ofagricultural are generated at level theunderlying conceptual frameworks shape technology'sinternal modes organization, rather than unintendedeffects application inherently benevolent set oftechniques. If ``food ethics'' address adverse impacts biotechnology, it must ultimately challenge theseconceptual frames, which, I argue, emerge from Enlightenment, liberal, political, economic theory.
