Thefundamental argument that many negative aspects ofagricultural are generated at level theunderlying conceptual frameworks shape technology'sinternal modes organization, rather than unintendedeffects application inherently benevolent set oftechniques. If ``food ethics'' address adverse impacts biotechnology, it must ultimately challenge theseconceptual frames, which, I argue, emerge from Enlightenment, liberal, political, economic theory.
