摘要: Candidiasis has increased substantially worldwide over recent decades and is a significant cause of morbidity mortality, especially among critically ill patients. Diabetes mellitus (DM) metabolic disorder that predisposes individuals to fungal infections, including those related Candida sp., due immunosuppressive effect on the patient. This review aims discuss latest studies regarding occurrence candidiasis DM patients pathophysiology etiology associated with these co-morbidities. A comprehensive literature was undertaken. PubMed, Scopus, Elsevier’s ScienceDirect, Springer’s SpringerLink databases were searched using well-defined search terms. Predefined inclusion exclusion criteria applied classify relevant manuscripts. Results show have an susceptibility sp. infections which aggravates in cases uncontrolled hyperglycemia. The conclusion that, for patients, hospitalization periods are commonly prolonged use indwelling medical devices, also increase costs disease management.
