摘要: BACKGROUND Antithrombin III (AT-III) has been shown to attenuate the local and systemic harmful effects of skeletal muscle ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) injury. The aim present study was monitor fluctuation routine hematological biochemical parameters in an experimental animal model tourniquet-induced I-R injury investigate how these are influenced by protective administration AT-III. METHODS Sixty male Wistar rats were submitted a 6-hour, tourniquet-induced, complete ischemia right hind-limb. Animals divided into those receiving AT-III (dose, 250 IU/kg) 30 minutes before reperfusion (group A, n=30) placebo B, n =30). Another 10 animals sham-operated C). White blood cell (WBC) platelet (PLT) count, aspartate alanine aminotransferases (AST ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), γ-glutamyl transferase (γ-GT) estimated samples taken from inferior vena cava at 3 different time points post-reperfusion (at baseline, 4 hours) groups A B compared using Mann-Whitney U test. RESULTS There no statistically significant differences between 0, hours with regard WBC, ALT γ-GT levels, however, there decrease AST levels group (p=0.002). An increased PLT count ALP also noted (p<0.001; p=0.001, respectively). CONCLUSIONS Of tested, found be significantly suppressed AT-III-treated animals, suggesting possible beneficial effect mouse on PLTs merits further investigation. Hippokratia 2014; 18 (3): 234-239.
