摘要: Ghrelin is secreted primarily by the stomach, although other tissues such as pancreas synthesize a minor proportion. The discovery of new cell type that produces ghrelin in human and this organ expresses GHS-R opens perspectives understanding control glucose metabolism. We have studied 22 children with newly diagnosed 1 diabetes mellitus at four different points: diagnosis before insulin therapy, after 48–60 h 4 mo treatment. At each point circulating levels ghrelin, leptin, IGF-I, IGF binding protein (IGFBP)-1, IGFBP-2, IGFBP-3, were determined. significantly decreased (573 ± 68 pg/mL, p < 0.01) compared controls (867 38 pg/mL) remained therapy (d 2: 595 pg/mL; mo: 590 61 538 67 no differences or There was negative correlation between body mass index all study points, whereas concentrations only observed therapy. No HbA1c found any point. A positive IGFBP-1 but members system leptin found. In conclusion, these data could indicate possible link ghrelin; hence, persisting low diabetic may suggest defensive mechanism against hyperglycemia.
