Surface modification of polymer using AC-pulsed plasma: Optimization of the electrical parameters and characterization by contact angle and probe-tack tests

摘要: This study is devoted to the surface modification of a glassy polymer (polycarbonate) using non-equilibrium AC-pulsed plasma treatment in 2 mbar-nitrogen atmosphere. The duty factor power supply lies between 5% and 100%. During pulse inside which on, 50 kHz-sinusoidal voltage applied parallel plate electrodes separated by 1.5 cm gap. characterization made with well-known contact angle method. In addition, we show that lab-made probe-tack test, less common for this kind experiments, can be used analysis as well. A few results on chemical treated surfaces are given. As regards process, it shown time, energy remaining at constant values, wettability still improved acting temporal distribution into discharge, i.e. without further consumption.
