摘要: Objective Formocresol, paramonochlorophenol, or calcium hydroxide have been widely used in dental practice to eradicate bacteria and consequently produce root canal disinfection. Taking into consideration strong evidence for a relationship between DNA damage carcinogenesis, the purpose of present study was evaluate genotoxic effects antimicrobial endodontic compounds human peripheral lymphocytes by single-cell gel (comet) assay. This technique detects strand breaks individual cells. Study design A total 10 μL tested substance solution (formocreso1, paramonochlorofeno1, at 100-μg/mL concentration) added from volunteers 1 hour 37°C. The negative control group treated with vehicle (PBS) 37°C, as well. For positive group, were exposed hydrogen peroxide 100 μM during 5 minutes on ice. Results No breakage detected after treatment formocresol, μg/mL. Conclusions In summary, our results indicate that exposure may not be factor increases level lesions
