摘要: Background: Zoledronic acid is a new member of the bisphosphonate (BP) class compounds, family closely related synthetic molecules originally derived from naturally occurring pyrophosphate. These compounds that are potent inhibitors bone resorption, have been shown to reduce growth several cancer cell lines in vitro, and can act as angiogenesis. The angiogenesis inhibitor TNP-470, analogue fungal antibiotic fumagillin, has inhibit multiple tumors vivo, currently Phase H clinical trials for cancer. Materials Methods: effects daily subcutaneous (s.c.) administration zoledronic (0.1 mg/kg) were compared with those TNP-470 (15 mg/kg/day 30 mg/kg every other day, s.c.) nude mouse xenograft model childhood cancer, neuroblastoma (NB). Results: reduced tumor by 33% whereas was less effective 26% 11% animals treated 15 respectively. Analysis showed significant reduction number vessels per grid vessel length all treatment groups. Conclusion: shows tumoristatic angiostatic properties might be beneficial solid such neuroblastoma.
