摘要: Abstract Seventy-seven cases of meningioma (15 with single or multiple recurrences), selected on the basis their histologic subtypes, and nine neurilemoma were analyzed immunohistochemically for presence five classes intermediate filament proteins, neuron-specific enolase (NSE), protein S-100, epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), HNK-1 (Leu-7). Most antibodies studied alkaline phosphatase-antialkaline phosphatase method. The peroxidase-anti-peroxidase avidin-biotin-complex methods used Leu-7 NSE, respectively. Meningiomas subdivided into groups showing cytokeratin S-100 positivity. Coexpression these two markers was rare (5%) occurred in meningotheliomatous meningiomas only. Only expression more frequent than taken together (33% versus 20%). In contrast, less (46% 60% average). fibrous meningiomas, both cytokeratins NSE expressed frequently average (11% 20%, 67% 88%, respectively). Protein a higher percentage cases. Transitional did not show expression. slightly often other subtypes. Psammomatous coexpressed any subtype. Hemangioblastic hemangiopericytic forms stain EMA, but otherwise showed staining profile similar to that meningiomas. 29% particularly among tumors anaplastic features. There no marker retrospectively indicated impending recurrences.
