摘要: Abstract Assessment of the ecological quality status is important for environmental protection and management. Benthic sensitivity-based indices have been considered as effective indicators ecosystem health assessment. In this paper, two benthic indices, AMBI Bentix, were used to assess soft-bottom intertidal zones in China's subtropical islands according data obtained spring, 2007. Simultaneously, assessment results compared with sediment order test applicability island eco-environmental The showed that 246 species macrobenthos identified sampling sites. zone Meizhou Island, dominant tolerant, which accounted 58.7% total individuals. other transects, sensitive, but percentages tolerant high estuarine islands. also most studied was or good, except middle tidal Island where it moderate. biotic generally correlated contents heavy metals petroleum sediments, indicated could be detect changes related pollution a wide range. However, seems more reasonably approximated those concurrent survey than performance Bentix.
