摘要: Objectives The aim of this study was to comprehensively review the epidemiology aortic sclerosis (ASc) and its association with cardiovascular events. Background ASc, which is defined as thickening or calcification valve without significant obstruction blood flow, is a common finding on cardiac imaging. Methods We searched MEDLINE EMBASE from inception April 2013 for studies describing ASc performed a meta-analysis risk adverse events using random effects model. Results Twenty-two were identified systematic review. prevalence increased in proportion average age participants, ranging 9% mean 54 years 42% 81 years. In total, 1.8% 1.9% participants had progression clinical stenosis per year. There 68% coronary subjects (hazard ratio [HR]: 1.68; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.31 2.15), 27% stroke (HR: 1.27; CI: 1.01 1.60), 69% mortality 1.69; 1.32 36% all-cause 1.36; 1.17 1.59). Conclusions that more prevalent older age. Despite low rates there is an independent increase morbidity associated condition.
