Induction of sperm head abnormalities in mice by three tranquilizers.

摘要: Toxic effects of diazepam (DZ), chlordiazepoxide (CDZ) and nitrazepam (NZ) on the spermatozoa mice have been studied at end 1, 3, 4, 6, 8 12 weeks after 15 days repeated treatment with a daily oral dose 0.5 mg. Different types abnormalities involving both shape size sperm head were noticed. Qualitatively NZ produced maximum number abnormal types. The incidences heads significantly high in all test series, 1 6 DZ treatment, 4 CDZ treatment. All three drugs week 6. varying induced by benzodiazepines seem to be due their differential pharmacokinetics.
