摘要: Abstract In diet-induced obesity, adipose tissue (AT) is in a chronic state of inflammation predisposing the development metabolic syndrome. Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) polyphenol-rich food with putative anti-inflammatory activities. Here, we examined impact and underlying mechanisms action cocoa on AT high fat-fed mice. present study, male C57BL/6 J mice were fed fat diet (HF), HF 8% (w/w) unsweetened powder (HFC), or low-fat (LF) for 18 weeks. supplementation decreased mRNA levels tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, inducible nitric oxide synthase, EGF-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1 by 40–60% compared to group, this was accompanied nuclear protein factor-κB. treatment reduced arachidonic acid 33% controls. Moreover, also eicosanoid-generating enzymes, adipose-specific phospholipase A2 cycloxygenase-2 53% 55%, respectively, HF-fed Finally, ameliorated endotoxemia (40% reduction plasma endotoxin) improved gut barrier function (as measured increased glucagon-like peptide-2). conclusion, study has shown first time that long-term can reduce part modulating eicosanoid metabolism endotoxemia.
