Osteonecrosis in protease inhibitor-treated patients.

摘要: The introduction of protease inhibitors has proven a watershed in human immunodeficiency virus infection therapy and initiated an era highly active anti-retroviral therapy. However, the numerous data on effectiveness these therapeutic regimens have been cited with ever-growing number communications concerning adverse reactions. In particular, widescale use underlined series events not evidenced controlled clinical studies that permitted registration drugs. We are conducting cohort multicenter study to evaluate incidence during treatment inhibitors. To date, 4 cases bilateral osteonecrosis femoral head reported out 1073 person-years. While pathogenesis this event is unclear, it may be long-term complication inhibitor treatment.
