摘要: [1] High resolution observations of atmospheric and oceanic variables are carried out at northern Bay Bengal from 22nd July to 6th August 2009 on-board ORV Sagar kanya under the Continental Tropical Convergence Zone research/observational programme. Freshening surface layer by more than 4 psu within 24 hours is observed, which followed warming in temperature. The heat salt budget analysis primarily indicates dominant role advection processes on evolution temperature salinity. amount rainfall received observation site could not explain observed freshening, thus an extensive using wavelet coherence done find source advected fresh water location. It found that salinity (at 15° N) varies coherently with over Ganga-Brahmaputra catchment area intraseasonal time scale lag about 60 days. Based above observations, this study hypothesize variation modulates river discharge, turn scale. Since always follows delay between freshening may post monsoon warming. Importance atmosphere-ocean coupling driving dynamics bay has been clearly brought study.
