摘要: Inactivation of the RB protein is one most fundamental events in cancer. Coming to a molecular understanding its function normal cells and how it impedes cancer development has been challenging. Historically, ability regulate cell cycle placed central role proliferative control, research focused on regulation E2F family transcription factors. Remarkably, several recent studies have found additional tumour-suppressor functions RB, including alternative roles cycle, maintenance genome stability apoptosis. These advances new structural are combining define multifunctionality RB.
