摘要: Functional processes in freshwater ecosystems are highly influenced by acidic conditions. Foodwebs affected and macroinvertebrate species diversity is decreased. This study aims to investigate leaf decomposition at very low pH the Banyupahit–Banyuputih river originating from crater lake Kawah Ijen Indonesia. Leaf experiments were carried out for 200 days pHs of approximately 0.7, 2.3 3.0 neutral Kali Sengon river, using leaves teak, Tectona grandis, bamboo, Bambusa sp. Two different types packs used: fine mesh size used exclude macroinvertebrates coarse allowed colonization. Clear differences rate observed between with proceeding significantly faster both types. In k values (d−1) over 46 0.0202 0.0236 0.0114 bamboo 0.0151 bamboo. No significant three sites 0.0034–0.0066 0.0002–0.0057 0.0029–0.0054 0.0000–0.0068 Moreover, no clear adaptation or microbes conditions could be detected. The revealed that important breakdown process. Fine microbial activity depressed under Based on this evidence, we conclude toxicity conditions, probably also precipitation metals material, seriously affects decomposition.
